Movie Review: Zameen

Zameen directed by Rohit Shetty, released in 2003 is a good, action packed thriller with lot of action and stunt. Lead roles have been played by Abhishek Bachchan (ACP Jaidev), Ajay Devgan (Colonel Ranvir Singh Ranawat), Bipasha Basu (Indian Airlines Flight Supervisor Nandini) and Mukesh Tiwari (Pakistani Terrorist Baba Zaheer Khan). All four have justified with the roles played by them.

Story goes like this: Pakistani terrorists hijack Indian Airlines flying from Mumbai to Kathmandu, having 107 passengers on board in lieu of their leader, Baba Zaheer Khan, who is under arrest with Indian Police. ACP Jaidev is the most daring police officer in Mumbai whose capabilities are known to Col. Ranvir. Nandini is Jaidev's wife and is one of the hostages of this hijacked plane. The plot is based on a real life scenario where in a similar incident having 102 passengers on board on a plan that was hijacked to Uganda by Neo Nazis and PLO jointly.
These two daring soldiers, ACP Jaidev, and Col Ranvir, along with a handful of army rescue all the hostages safely from the land of Pakistan and are also able to kill their kingpin leader Baba who they had taken along with them as a ploy.
